One of the key responsibilities of multifamily professionals is to empower your maintenance team with knowledge about fair housing compliance. This session is designed to equip you and your team with the insights needed to navigate the complexities of fair housing regulations confidently.
The maintenance staff often find themselves on the front lines of customer interactions. As they tackle everyday issues—from leaky faucets to broken heaters—they may also encounter sensitive questions related to fair housing laws. Whether it’s a request for a reasonable accommodation or inquiries about tenant eligibility, the responses given by your maintenance team can have significant implications for your property and its compliance.
Unfortunately, missteps in communication can lead to misunderstandings, potential legal liabilities, and even costly fair housing violations. This session will focus on the most common questions your maintenance staff may hear and how to respond—or, just as importantly, how NOT to respond—to ensure compliance and promote a fair living environment for all residents. Don’t miss it1.
